Basil Essential Oil (ocimum basilicum) is best known for adding a fresh, herbal flavour to culinary dishes from around the world, but it has a long list of therapeutic uses as well. Basil Essential Oil has long been used for treating physical maladies such as chest infections, digestive problems, and jaundice. It is also a mentally stimulating and energizing oil that is thought to improve memory and concentration and reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. To achieve these results, the oil can be applied to the back of the neck or the temples, or it can be diffused.
