AROMATHERAPY SKIN CARE TREATMENT BLEND
In a blender, place:
- 6-8 large strawberries
- 2 cups of whole milk
- 1 tablespoon of almonds
- 1 tablespoon of wheat germ
- 2 tablespoons of Jojoba oil (optional)
- Lavender 3 drops
- Geranium 3 drops
Put all ingredients in a blender (blend until smooth).then pour into a warm bath. This bath will help to soften, heal, irritated or sunburned sensitive skin. Lavender essential oil and Geranium essential oil will help to calm, relax and uplift while the wheat germ is high in vitamins A and E; milk contains natural beta hydroxy acids, which help to exfoliate and soothe skin, almonds (like milk) are rich in natural emollients and jojoba oil is as close to the naturally protective layer (sebum) that coats and protects our skin.
A delightful recipe you can make at home:
- 2 cups dead sea salt
- ½ cup baking soda
- ½ cup powdered milk
- 2 tablespoons light oil
- 1 tsp vitamin E
- 2 whole eggs
- 10-12 drops or your choice of essential oil or blend.
Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix all ingredients together. Take teaspoonfulls of the dough and roll into small balls on an non-greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes until lightly browned (make sure you do not over bake these little goodies!).
Allow your aromatherapy bath treats to cool completely and then store in a decorative container ready for gift giving. This aromatherapy recipe makes approximately 24 “treats”. You can jazz them up by adding a little food coloring or dried flower petals (keep in mind, that the petals will leave a bit of a mess in the bath when the water is drained out).

APPLE AROMATHERAPY SKIN TONER
If you’re fond of making at home aromatherapy bath and spa treats for yourself or friends, you’ll want to try this simple apple toner. Intended for slightly oily skins, apple toner is an excellent substitute for rubbing alcohol (rubbing alcohol is a real no-no, as it actually stimulates the oil glands to produce more oil).
